all about querying

Last night (rather unceremoniously), I finished my final read-through of The Protectress before beginning to query.

This has definitely been the part of the process I am not really looking forward to. So why am I going to do it?! Why do I want this when I've already written the book which is AN ACCOMPLISHMENT no matter what happens to it...

Because I want it to be out there in the world. I want to have a book printed with a beautifully designed cover that is available for people to discover, and (FINGERS CROSSED) enjoy. I think stories want to be shared.

And, honestly, also because I work full-time and love writing, and it would be nice to turn that love into extra money. Also, who doesn't imagine their book as a movie or series whilst writing it?!

Anyway, there are lots of reasons to want to be published, and put yourself through the difficult process of querying to try to make your dream happen.

Preparing for the process, and hoping it'll get better too, with Night Soiree next and the other two WIPs after.

Any tips on querying?! Having never done it before, I'd love any insight.

It's me and my pup, Lula Mae!

If you have to know more, or think you know where Lula Mae got her name without looking, we should talk.
