fluffy little cows and why writing

When the words feel like they don't wanna be written, what do you do to calm your mind and get the writing going?

Look at a field of fluffy little cows? Work out? Take a walk? Make coffee? Read?

All completely valid, we're all working within our own processes and schedules. I was talking with a friend the other day about how to keep the writing process light and playful and not too stressful. I think it comes down to why you write.

There are endless reasons for why that may be, but what's really helped my process to keep at the front of mind every time I sit down to write is answering these two essential questions.

This book is special because: Answer this! You'll know why you can't stop and have to keep going after you do.

I am writing because: Have you ever asked yourself this? Do it. Now.

It's super simple, but enough to keep me excited while writing. Especially when you miss deadlines and goals...

Which I totally did in October. And, I'm a little stressed about it, but also trying to just get back on track, and knock out eighty pages of re-writes soon. Because I believe this book is special, and I'm enjoying every minute of spending time with it and working on it.

Looking forward to a productive writing November with more Luna and two more Beatrix Bobbit stories coming in on broomsticks.

It's me and my pup, Lula Mae!

If you have to know more, or think you know where Lula Mae got her name without looking, we should talk.
