meet luna: part one

As has been established many times now, I'm not Luna. We haven't even known each other a full year yet, but I already feel like I know her so well. And, also, she's such a mystery! It's complicated, but here's a brief little introduction to Luna, the protagonist of this current story.

Luna is newly sixteen years old. She practices yoga daily (what?! a yoga'ing teen, no way!), and hangs out with her best friend, Gwenny, while attending high school in Star's End. She feels mostly pretty normal, except that every night she wanders the woods that span across her town. She's been doing it since she was eight, and she can't stop. She also feels a spark (of sorts) when she's out under the moon and stars, and once she thought a flick of her wrist manipulated the light around her but maybe it was just an illusion. What's wrong with her? Gwenny wants to find out, but Luna's parents dismiss the subject entirely. In fact, her parents are so distraught when Luna mentions it, that Luna thinks they know something they're holding back. But what could it be? It isn't until her yoga teacher, Riley, asks her to stay after class one evening that Luna discovers there has been a purpose to her night wanderings all along. And, there are others like her.
