new book ideas

With The Protectress in its final read through before querying, and Night Soiree first draft close to being done (probably 20k words over my goal, oops!), I feel like I'm eagerly looking ahead to those next books.

So far these are the ideas I'm most excited to dive on into:

• Imagine...a Beauty and the Beast reimagining (HOLD THE UGH!) with a bit of Marie Antoinette opulence mixed in where the Beauty murders the Beast. Oh it's gonna be fun.

• Imagine...a girl gets ACCIDENTALLY nominated to the Supreme Court. A fun-far fetched story with lots of learning about the Supreme Court.

Along with a second Protectress book and Night Soiree book, this seems like PLENTY. But, I've been reading (as quickly as I can) Dark and Shallow Lies. An atmospheric gothic mystery in a bayou town where everyone has psychic powers. It is SO good.

And, now, I really really want to right my own creepy, YA thriller because that's apparently how it goes. So, I'll be brainstorming what this might look like to add to the list, which I imagine will only keep growing.
