surprise! you wrote this
When you write a book, you kinda think you know it really really well.
I mean, YOU WROTE IT. So how could you not?
But, there's a lot going on while writing a book, so obviously you read it through, like, 57 times, while drafting.
And, then, surely you know everything?
This final read through of The Protectress has been full of surprises. Entire scenes I have almost no recollection of writing.
And, honestly, it's kinda nice to be surprised. But, I'll obviously need another 57 readings just to make sure nothing else sneaks into this.
Now a snippet of one such scene. Riley and Luna at training, they're practicing dream training, after discovering her power's connection to dreams:
“There are so many possibilities to explore within your powers. For the moment, I’d like to focus a bit on dreams because I think your power is connected to them in some unique way,” Riley’s head was tilted up to the sky.
Luna was so stunned, she couldn’t speak at first. She’d always had such vivid dreams each night, and the ability to create realistic daydreams. Lately, it seemed like her dreams were trying to send her a message, especially after the encounter with Star.
“You know, don’t you?” Riley was examining her face thoughtfully now.
“Is everything about me related to my powers?” Luna asked quietly.
