thanks for the drafts
It's done, she whispered.
NEVER, Luna replied.
YOU WISH, Britt cackled.
After a brief hiatus for Thanksgiving, I'm 126 pages away from being done (for now) with the newest version of Luna. I kinda wish I could pull up all versions of this story and line them up side by side and thank them for their service to the next draft. Where it started and where it's at now are so completely different.
Is this how it always is? Does your plan veer off course with each draft? I don't know what's "right" but, so far, each new draft has felt like a pretty huge improvement on the one before it.
And, even when the process never seems to end, I'm super thankful for all the things writing this book has given me. Especially, that it got me writing every day.
Whether I'm working on the first Protectress book or outlining the rest of the series or writing Beatrix Bobbit shot stories or following the newest idea for The Eternal Night Soiree, there is so much writing happening that it doesn't matter how many drafts it takes.
I'm hoping to keep enjoying it, keep writing and see where it takes me. Especially because I'm so excited about this new Luna I'm reading, and anxious to get feedback on all the story changes.
What are you writing that you're thankful for and excited about?!
