when to take a writing break

When you're feeling super motivated and in a great writing groove, it can be hard to take a break.

What if you suddenly forget how to write? What if the ideas in your head disappear and never come back?

I think it's a lot more difficult to take a step back than it is to plow forward through pages and edits. Even working full time, my downtime feels like it should be entirely dedicated to writing these books.

This is probably a good problem to have, but I still think it's good to know when a break is good for you. It's kinda like exercise. Those rest days are important for your body.

Knowing when to take a break and taking said break are two different things. But, stay tuned into how you're feeling, and try to change the mindset around what taking a break means.

It's not you being lazy or not doing enough. It is you doing the best thing for you. Which will turn out to be the best thing for your writing too.

How often do you take writing breaks?!
